    The CDC includes eleven centers, institutes, and offices linked to this Web site which promote health and quality of life by researching diseases, injuries, and disabilities. Among topics covered are healthy living, travelers' health, and current news.

    Excellent source of consumer information provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
      
  • Mayo Clinic
    A database of diseases and conditions with information on diagnosis and treatment, plus a medicine center which explains both prescription and non-prescription drugs.

    This database is written by physician educators and discusses diseases and treatments, medications, current health news, and procedures and tests. Picture slide shows and image collection gallery.

    Created by pediatric medical experts of the Nemours Foundation and the American Medical Association, this is a database dedicated to the health of children and teens. There are separate links for use by parents, teens, and children.
     
  • Specific Diagnoses Card Catalog
    A University of Wisconsin database designed to provide information for parents of children who have disabilities. A specific diagnoses card catalog gives information about disabilities including "Who to Contact," "Learn More About It," and "Where to Go to Chat with Others."
