Home Library MenuDiversity, Equity, and Inclusion
At the City of Louisville, everyone is welcome. We are dedicated to working together to make long-lasting and meaningful impact in our community. We do this by creating a community of involvement, respect, and connection. We value our similarities and differences and invite people from all backgrounds and identities to join us in conversation and participation towards inclusion, equity, and belonging.
The Library has always strived to provide a diverse collection to our patrons.
In 2020, a community fundraising effort, led by a local resident, allowed the library to purchase 180 additional copies of high-interest anti-racism titles and build on an already strong collection.
Additionally, the Rotary Club of Boulder Flatirons awarded the Library a grant to build our collections for youth, from picture books to teen collections. This also enabled the Library to acquire parenting books that help caregivers raise children to be accepting, inclusive, compassionate adults.
