Each summer, thousands of families in Louisville and Superior build reading habits, explore local
businesses, and spend meaningful time together through the Library’s Summer Reading Challenge—a program that has become a beloved community tradition.

In 2025, 3,738 participants joined the challenge, and attendance at our end-of-summer celebration grew by 25%. Beyond literacy, this program drives real economic activity—bringing families into local businesses, encouraging repeat visits, and strengthening connections across our community.
