Squad Goals:

• Get kids excited about reading and the library!
• Provide friendly customer service for the library’s Summer Reading Program.
• Assist with various tasks around the Children’s area such as straightening, cleaning, and prepping crafts.
• Earn volunteer hours.
• Have fun, meet other teens, and make a difference in your community.

Qualifications:

Teens finishing seventh grade or teens who are ages 13-17 may apply. Must be able to follow directions and interact with patrons of all ages in a friendly and professional manner.

New Squad members are required to attend one in-person training at the library. You cannot participate unless you attend. There are no alternate training dates. The trainings are:

• Thursday, May 14 from 7:00-7:45 PM
• Friday, May 29 from 12:30-1:15 PM

Applications are due May 8.

Summer Squad Schedule

You choose your schedule. To sign up for shifts, you must come to the Children’s desk and use the binder. Library staff cannot sign you up for shifts over the phone. There is a limit of two Squad members per time slot. You can sign up for shifts beginning May 14.

The schedule will become available on May 14 at the library. New Squad members must complete training prior to signing up for shifts.
